Success comes from succession.

Success comes from succession.

When my mum would leave the house, we didn’t say goodbye until the 3rd time she’d left.

Mum: “I’m leaving now. Bye!”
Kids: "Ok mum! See you in a minute!" (That's 1)
She’d attempt to go outside the house... Then come back in...
Mum: “Where are my keys?”
She'd go rummage for her keys...
Mum: “Right, I’m leaving now!”
Kids: "Ok, mum!" (That's 2)
She’d close the door and we’d be counting the seconds for the door to open again...
Mum: “I forgot my handbag”
She’d go looking for her handbag...
Mum: “Ok I’m leaving! Bye!”
Kids: “Bye mum!” (That's 3)

My mum was amazing at forgetting her basics. She's one of those people who are always late but don’t know why.

As an adult, I often don’t know where my keys are. They seem to just walk away and hide from me. It takes me ages to find them. Crazy! “How can you be a success coach if you can’t even find your keys?” was a question my now Ex asked often. I took that question on and wondered myself for a long time.

How can you coach anyone if you can’t perform the single task of leaving your key in one place?

I found out that key retrieval is actually not a requirement for effective coaching but it makes getting on time and leaving the house without stress so much more likely.

Success is often associated with the accomplishments of an aim or purpose.
My mum succeeded to find her keys in the end.

And often we think of making lots of money, attaining a certain status, getting to landmark points in our business - the “6 figures” or “7 figures” as "successful".

I’d like to propose a new way of looking at success that will help you have more of it in every sense of the word.

I believe success is more biological. It comes from succession.

Succession is when one thing supports the nurturing of the next. When you think of your achievements as successions, it allows you to let go of your past and supports the nurturing of your present and future dreams.

It takes you out of the achievement trajectory mindset in which the result seems to trump the experience and shifts you into the connectivity you actually need to access your creative potential that also happens to feel really good.
