Bad habits?

Bad habits?

Jun 19, 2023

Let’s look at habits. I don’t have bad habits (of course), but if I did, they’d be:
Going to bed too late and prioritising work or pleasure over my sleep.

They’d be skipping meals making out I’m too busy and not that keen on feeding myself.
They’d be looking for comfort and complaining about being uncomfortable.
And getting overwhelmed/confused, which is my number one excuse for stopping in my tracks.

You might tell yourself to go to bed earlier. You might tell yourself to eat more regularly or healthier. You might tell yourself to exercise. But do you then do it?

Some things are OK to change- and others just won’t work.

And that’s where we can look at the structures running our lives. Addictive structures, for example -
Even if you’re a green smoothie-drinking yoga queen with a 7-figure business and 2 happy kids, you might still have addictive structure and phases running in your life... so read along.

I can eat well and stay off Netflix when I’ve had enough sleep so much better. And when I’ve been kind to myself.
On a day on which I’ve reprimanded myself for not making enough money or not doing enough or losing my shit with the kids- that’s when I “need” to take a break. And I tend not to go to the bathtub. I watch Netflix. Or eat chocolate.
To build positive structures in your life, you’ll sometimes sweat, but with some kindness towards yourself, you'll go farther.

Take a break. Be kind. Go again. Do what's good for you, fall off the wagon, and do what's good for you again. We'll get there!
